Should I be concerned? Test kit bottles are not expired. I started with Caribsea Instant Aquarium Gravel Peace River. Do you think its actually working?

Thanks in advance for any tips, advice and suggestions!

Should I send you some media and help you get through this cycle? :)

Honestly I wouldn't be too concerned. It has only been 5 days since you added water.

You could try adding some plants - that will help the cycle.
My plants are ordered. They come in few days.

I'm in the same boat Patti, except my pH is ~7.6. I was hoping to get some used filtering media from a buddy today, but I caught what the kids had.. Ugh.. flu time.

Hope you feel better Joel. I have bronchitis 3 weeks ago. maybe it's worth it if you got the used filter media! ;)

you could probably turn the heater sideways and push it down about 3/4 the way down...
you are probably going to turn the power off when you are doing your maintenance/ water change so just in case you dont turn off the power the heater will be safe ...
