Dose a small amount over a week and see what happens! If things start to look worse; do a water change and don't do it again! (or does an even smaller amount)

Alright, seems like a pretty simple system. I guess I'll get some ferts this afternoon.

Thanks,
Brian

Just an FYI; if you are going to dose ferts longterm consider creating your own from dry mixes (or dosing dry..).

Interesting idea, can you suggest a recipe? And what do you mean by dry mixes. Also, what do you mean over a week? I thought you would only dose once a week.
Thanks,
Brian

Thanks, I haven't actually got any ferts yet (planning to today) but I was going to get some flourish. I'll see how that goes, and if it's good, I'll look into those sites you posted after the bottle runs out.

Thanks,
Brian

Dosing dry fertilizers/buying them in bulk is the cheapest way to dose your tank. Flourish isn't bad; but it can get expensive. I just gave away a bottle I had found of it the other month too.... Anyway; good luck and if your plants look good with Flourish; you can either keep using that or go buy some Plantex CSM + B or similar dry mix and dose that. A pound will last you a long time.
