I am not sure if one of my discus has a problem or not, my wife noticed a white glaze like stuff over his eyes it covers his entire eye. Is this something to be concerned about? If so what is it and what can I do to help him? Thanks.

A pic would greatly help. Can you tell us more about your tank and water parameters?

Yes, I need to put my tank size etc. 55 gal just changed the water and checked parameters and everything is all well. 4 Discus, 6 Black Neon, 4 Cardinals, 2 Farlowellas, 2 Tiger Stripe Loachs. Live Plants.

The closer I look he has only one eye that is glazed over. One of the other discus picks on him. Maybe an injury, not sure. Camera's broke so no pic.

How often are you doing PWC's, Discus need pristine water conditions.......:)

"Everything is all well"? That's a matter of opinion when someone says that :-) Post actual numbers done with a liquid test kit (the test tubes you add drops to). The reason I say that is because literally every single time I've seen someone's tank with that problem they've had a serious water quality problem-ammonia, nitrites or nitrates far too high. There's no medicine in the world that's going to help if the problem is your water quality.

Let's rephrase "all is well" lets say parameter wise water is 0 for Nitrates, 0 for Nitrites, 0 for Ammonia, PH is 6.4. Live plants. Changed water 1/3 yesterday which I change once a week. The other discus so far don't seem to have this problem.

For discus, I would think more than one water change a week is needed due to their need for constant supreme water conditions. If the condition is "cloudy eye" it is most definitely related to water quality. If the cloud is due to an injury, I would think it would show a darker spot somewhere on the eye and then surrounded by a lighter glaze. However, water changes will benefit this as well as an injury med.

I would think from the description, it sounds more related to cloudy eye and a boost of water changes will be needed.... maybe twice a week or more.

Are these new fish? How long have you had them in this tank?

These fish have been in this 55 gallon tank for a year and I have been doing a water change 1/3 to 1/2 once a week for a year, I use a Cascade 1000 water filter, I will keep a close check on them, if I have to I will increase the changes.
