Hi Friends,

Hope all is well and great !

Friends, I want to catch small insects for my Frogs and just wanted to request for guidance on how to make a simple insect trap. Here in India we dont have any bait or pet shops who carry live insects, crickets, worms etc and the only way I'll be able to feed my frogs is by catching a few small insects, flys etc everyday.

I was thinking that I'll easily catch a few insects (that get attracted to lights) everyday but today when I tried I couldnt catch anything atall. My frogs are being starved today because of this...

Will be a great help if you can kindly guide me on how to make a simple, cheap, fairly efficient insect trap. Kindly help !

Thanks a lot for all the care and love you guys have given me - really appreciate it, Friends...
Lots of Regards and Care to all,
Kush

When I use to collect wild caught insects for my pets I would go into the horse pastures on our farm and catch grasshoppers. I would also look under boards and rocks around the farm for crickets and worms. Just make sure that you catch insects that are far away from areas sprayed with pesticides/herbicides.

well.... you could try this: get a very tall widemouth jar adig a hole for it. Place it in in the evening and in the morning you should have some bugs. I t works better if u put food in it.

get a jar and place a sponge soaked with sugar water or vinegar inside of it. you should be able to attract something

You'll catch more flies with honey than vinegar! Sorry I couldn't resist!

its simple,........ try to eat a meal and not have flies all over it and net the whole thing,.. i find, if you want to have them leave you alone you can't,..lol

You can take a large jar and place a funnel over the top with the wide part facing up. Place it directly under a light outside. In the evening when bugs are flying around the light some will get knocked down into the funnel and fall into the jar.

I so badly wish I could buy that light "Bug-Napper" - I guess it would solve all my problems of feeding these beauties.

I guess they do ship internationally but I dont think I'll be able to afford it ever. It costs more than 6000 in my currency (including shipping)

Friends, sorry for asking this, just wanted to ask if anybody has a used product similar to that one and if anyone is willing to sell the same to me. I promise that I'll be grateful to you forever in this lifetime of mine...
