In my 38 gallon I currently have sand as the substrate and was wondering if it would be ok to use it as a planted tank substrate. Any Ideas?

It'll work. Even though it isnt the ideal substrate, most plants will still grow, I'd just enrich it with some flourish tabs or something similar.

Yep sure will. I'd suggest PFS (pool filter sand), but play sand will work just was well. Remember, wash wash and wash again before you put it in your tank....

I have pool filter sand in my tank and my wisteria, anubias, etc do great in my low light, low tech set up!

I think its too late, he is already using an established tank with sand, hehe.
