I've joined the dark side. Soon to be manager of the Petland Lancaster fish dep.

Yep but it was fun to order. Now guess my total cost. hehe
Hmmm . . . I have no clue on the cost. I imagine there is quite a mark up. Do they arrive all at the same time? You're going to be doing a lot of unpacking!

I just noticed the name "black rasbora". Is this black harlequin rasbora? Pics please!

it arrives friday ill have pics then. but yes that is what it is apparently.

Sorry no MTS yet. I Ran 18.00 over budget so i paid the 18.00 out of pocket. im ordering some next week. :)

Markup is insane. But if you guys want some oddballs pm me and i'll see wht i can't do about ordering them and shipping them off at a reduced rate.

It's going pretty good. I moved some tanks around, and placed my first order for fish.

This is what i got. (snip!)

Wow! :jaw-dropping:

You'll be spending a lot of time acclimating. :grinyes:

that seems like quite a large order to acclimate since you are the only fish dept. employee. I hope you are enjoying your new job. it seems like you are. judt remember you can't do everything in one day.

O speaking of acclimating. They used to float the bags but then The Aquarium Adventure big wig (according to my bosses) Has done lots of research on acclimating fish. And this is the proper way to do it. He (and they) Say too take the fish out of the box, dumb them in a net over a trash can so all the water comes out and immediately put them in the tank. This is apparently less stressful and the "proper" way then floating the bags and acclimating them over an hour. It all has to do with them being in the darkness for a long time and once they get that bright light, it causes them to be stressed if they sit in the bags. ( Amazing what people come up with)

I found this out today, when i got a talking to about my acclimating procedure (i was floating bags) She was like didn't they explain to you yesterday about not floating bags and just putting them in. I just nodded and said yes. Then finished it my way.

And they wonder why they've lost so many fish over the last few months. They had been having 8 or 9 die each day, and some days up to 20-25. I'll do em my way and i'll see how many fish i lose vs there way.

Oh and Aquarium Adventure is a specialty store of petland.

hey, how much would it be to get some Zebra Shrimp from you? I'll call my local (if you call Woodruff Rd local) Petsland and see if they would be willing, otherwise, may ask you.

Btw, how horrible on that acclimation, eeeeghhhh.
