I did plant it in the sand!! (So much to learn). What should I do with it if I can't put it in the sand?

You can put the roots, but not the rhizome buried. Or you can tie it to a rock/wood/decoration with some thread or fishing line.

I also buried the bulb on the betta bulb. Should that not be buried either? Sometimes it comes out of the sand when I do a water change and the bulb still seems firm and fresh and definitely doesn't smell.
