I'm thinking about eventually getting a YWG, but I'm not sure if one of those guys is right for me. I'm a newbie and my tank is still cycling (of course!). I plan on getting a YWG as like my 3rd and, possibly, final fish. Are YWG hardy and would you recommend one?

What size is the tank?
What other fish are you planning on having?
Do you have a sand bed that's more than 1" deep?

Generally, yellow watchman gobies are easy to keep, but answers to the above questions would be good to have before actually recommending one for a specific tank.

30g tank, sand bed is about 2 inches deep and I will be adding another 5lbs of it.

I plan on keeping a clown, a fire fish and the watchman goby (if possible). I might also get 3 blue-green chromis, if I can.

I don't see any problems with having a yellow watchman goby in your tank. I think it would be a good addition to your tank. I would, however, suggest not getting the chromis.
