My Dads irrigation pond is full of little tadpoles. They're very tiny. I think it would be intresting to see my tiger barbs eat live bait. Would tadpoles work?

are there any chemicals being sprayed into that pond, if so it would be dangerous for the tiger barbs, no idea if they wouldeat the tadpoles but would be dangerous if something leaked into the water

If it can fit in their mouth...yes. I would worry more about what parasites you are bringing into your tank.

More like nip than eat. Besides, I am very wary with tadpoles. I still remember my dad grabbing my whole container of tadpoles and putting it in the aquarium containing his silver arowana. The silver arowana seemed to have weaken after consuming more than two dozens and died in a few days. Whether they were toxic or not, I don't want to even think of that further.

after reading through all that its not even worth risking it, what if the tiger barbs die? no, just feed them live bloodworm or daphnia.

If you don't know what kind of tadpoles they are, do not offer them to your fish; some tadpoles (especially toads) are quite toxic. It also may be illegal to collect them- be sure to check local laws and regulations. And of course, never collect live food from an area that may be contaminated with pesticides or other toxins.

That said, tadpoles can be an excellent supplemental food; they are rich in fat and protein and have no indigestible scales or bones. I often feed tadpoles to my snakes and turtles.

Tadpoles of bullfrogs and relatives (ranids) and most treefrogs (hylids) are non-toxic. To my knowledge, tadpoles do not carry any parasites that are transferrable to fishes; they are certainly less of a risk in that regard than feeder fishes. If you can get some good photos of the tadpoles and what area they were found in, I or someone else should be able to tell you what kind of tadpoles they are and whether they are safe.
