Why does duckweed grow so fast???

I did some maintenance on my little 10g and pulled out nearly all the lesser duckweed this past Sunday. I just noticed that there is a lot of duckweed back on the surface :swear:

How does it reproduce so quickly??? Are there duckweed fairies that sprinkle that stuff around when no one is looking? :evil_lol:

It takes virtually nothing for them to reproduce. They also crowd out competition...

yeah they do!! That's how I noticed that there was lots of duckweed again. Everything has a greenish hue to it inside the tank. :silly: I used to like duckweed......
