I'm trying to do a fishless cycle and can't find pure ammonia or ammonium hydroxide anywhere.

I've been to Walgreen's, Randall's, multiple Home Depots/Lowe's/HEBs, Amazonia, and Aquatek. A few of those places had "Pure" or "Clear" ammonia but when you look at the ingredients, they have surfactants or perfumes/dyes and foam when you shake them. I've tried calling cleaning supply stores and they don't seem to have any either. Any suggestions??

#1 answer Walmart.

Sorry I forgot to include that I've gone to Walmart already. I bought some "Pure Ammonia" from them only to check the ingredients after I got home and see that it has ammonium hydroxide and surfactants. It also foams when I shake it.

HEB and Randall's are both grocery stores. I don't know what other grocery stores there are around here as Albertson's shut down most, if not all of their stores.

try ace, true value or other smaller hardware stores, Thats where i found mine. None of the major stores had it for me either.

ACE Hardware. "Janitorial Strength." The shake test, etc.

How much did it cost?

Everything at Dollar Tree costs $1 =) I went to the Dollar Tree nearby and they didn't have any ammonia though =( I also tried this mom + pop True Value hardware and they had like 5 cleaning products total. I guess I'll try Ace Hardware later and maybe another Dollar Tree. Not sure why it would be easier to find real drugs in Austin than it is to find pure watered down ammonia. :mad2:
