Well, my store has a 30gal planted tank, been running for a while now with really nice plants growing. Stocked with abunch of tetras and a yellow spot angel and random shrimps.

Now...im in charge of it. And can do whatever i want aslong as it stays planted.

I plan on switching out the tetras for another fish but dont know what...not a fan of tetras and we already have a 200gal full of them.

Cant do african cichlids, already have a 90gal full of them.
Cant do south americans, also have a 90gal full of them.
Dont want to do a rainbow tank, we used to have them with the tetras in the 200gal.

What are my options?

The first thing that comes to mind is fish that people use to control algae in planted tanks. Otocinclus, Crossocheilus siamensis, etc. Also it sounds like your store does not have any SE Asian displays. There are a number of rasbora that I never see anymore. Labyrinth fish are always popular. I hear healthy powder blue gourami are hard to find.

what kinds of tetras are in it now? my lfs has a NICE planted tank with rummynoses in it and it looks outstanding.

Discus needs a really low pH, like 5.0 (Thats what ours are at). Wont the kill the plants?

Just a thought as I was thinking about some a few days ago. I hear Killies do well in planted tanks. I have no experience with them though.

Yeah, i think were doing killies.

If so, well be the only store here that carys killies other then the golden wonders.

And my boss been trying to order this $200-$400 Betta...a BETTA!
