Hello,
I have a 84 liters tank (+-22 gallon) with ph of 8 and high hardness of the water, due to the rocks inside(all rock tank).

What fish species are suitable for this tank?

Thank you

Daniel

There are plenty of choices. What rocks are you using? At this rate, stick with Lake Tanganyikan shell dwellers.

I COMPLETELY agree!

Neolamprologus multifaciatus is the way to go!!!:D

Thanks guys,
Today i went to a local fish shop , specialized in african cichlids, and they adviced me with Pseudotropheus msobo & pseudotropheus demasoni from Malawi , or any species from Neolamprologus family (shell dwellers)from lake tanganyika.

The pseudotropheus are really beautifull, and the breeding is amazing also.
As far as Neolamprologus are a bit colorless, but also very interesting in terms of breeding

The tank has 19 kilos of rocks, with plenty of tunels and hiding places.
The rocks are named as moonstones, adequate for cichlids.

The shop owner advice me for 6 msobo and 6 demasoni, to avoid agression between them or 3 diferent groups of neolamprologus.

Ill make a new round tomorrow at the store to talk see them better.

Happy weekend all

do not follow this advice. stick with one group to prevent major fighting and aggression issues.

with shelldwellers rocks are secondary and shells are far more important. but rocks will still be a nice addition, but do not go overboard and leave no rooms for shells :)

I really like the looks of escargot shells, perfect size as well and not too expensive.

No Demasoni. They are best kept in groups of 15 or more. (This means the need for a 55 gallon at the least)

Also, the tank is way too small for Msobo. Go with shelldwellers.
