what does a skimmer do???

Well my problem is that the sump takes allot of room in my stand and I can't fit the skimmer in the sump it's just to tall so that's leaves me with the skimmer outside the sump, which I can't put the skimmer on the inlet side because of the water return.The only thing I can do is to place the skimmer pump in the return and rum a hose to the skimmer which will be about 4' long. Right now I'm e-mailing Aquac for help on this matter and I have to say they e-mailed me the next day WOW.

As you can see there's not much room in the sump for my skimmer and the sump takes up allot of the stand space with only room on the retune side to put the skimmer.
 
Although I didn't buy from Aqua C I was very impressed with their customer service and quick response to eMail. I appreciate the problem you're having with the sump. My solution since the sump was so new was to return it to teh store for credit and go the DIY route. I can appreciate that would not work for many. I hope you find a solution that you're happy with.
 
Well the skimmer is about 3 to 4 months old so I think returning it will be out of the question, but I think I will be able to solve the problem I'll keep you posted on what I do thanks.
