Does anybody know what the fry look like when a silver angel and a gold angel mate? Does anyone have pics? Do you get some of each, or koi, or golds with stripes?

So, I found my answer. For the official record, it seems that the gold genes are recessive. Therefore, if a gold angel mates with anything other than a gold angel, (unless there is gold in the partner's line) all fry will have the coloring of the partner. If there is gold in the partner's line, than some fry may be gold. If a gold and gold mate, the fry WILL all be gold.

Silver genes are dominant. If a fish presents as silver, it may carry other genes. Two Silvers can mate and the offspring may be of several different colorations. If all fry are silver, than it is very likely that both parents, and thus the fry, have pure silver genes. This is not neccessarily the case, as the fry can get the silver coloration from either parent alone, and recessive genes may present in future generations.

This is based on a combination of research I've done into angelfish genetics, combined with what I remeber, hopefully accurately, of biology.

interesting.

so when my gold mated with a marble and I got golds. so the female marble must have had the gold gene too.
