anyone have any wakins or jinrins? i wanted some for my pond but only 1 store i know of has them and they are 30 dollars for 4 inchers, i could get nice quality koi for that much. if anyone has any how much did you pay?? john

Hi blitzen25bm, it all depends on the fishes quality, a Wakin of that size should go between $10-$30. If it is a Jinkin then it is a different story. Jinkins can be very expensive because breeders put in a lot of time producing these fish. They are a direct descendent of the Wakin that has been culled because of their certain characteristics and then breeders will pluck their red scales off (about 6 at a time) to produce the ideal looking Jinkin. Now if that is a Jinkin for $30 that is in good condition that is a bargain.

Here are a couple of links for Wakins and Jinkins.

im sure they are wakins. i mean for 30 dollars its not too bad i mean i spent a lot more on koi but trying to stock a pond with 30 dollar fish is going to cost a fortune. i saw some of the posts you showed me but the one site i liked are all sold out right now. thanks for the info though, maybe i'll try some stores a little out of the area. -john
