Are there ANY plants that will survive in approx. 80 watts of light in a 90 gallon tank? I'm liking the look of Tetras in a low light look.
Wisteria, crypts, and swords might work too.Just don't expect much growth.
If the plants start to die off, take them out so they don't pollute the water.
Get some Anubius like the others suggested and see how that does.If all else fails, fill it up with java ferns.
So yeah,I would leave the light how you like it,and plant whatever will live in those conditions.
What kind of tetra do you have?
I'm not sure, but it is certainly worth a try, plus it will look cool! If you can get the plants growing,I'm sure it would help reduce nitrate at least a little. It would depend on how many plants and how fast the growth is.I have Neons, Black Neons, Sepra and Rainbowfish. I may take the Rainbowfish out and add more variety of Tetras .
Maybe I will try my freshwater refugium idea out instead of letting them just die. How much benefit would I get out of it?
