Using an HOB on my 55 gal

so i went to my local petsmart with a online printout of the aquaclear 110 (60 bucks online and 90 in the store)... and they told me that they dont price match because of the shipping costs.... and i told them anything purchase over $60 get free shipping.... they responded with well those are American prices (i live in Canada BTW)... and responded with the candian dollar is currently better than the american dollar.... they said thats true..... i said ok, so do i get the price match and they said no.... i asked why(didnt make sense that they wouldnt do it).... they said oh because its from their online store and you can order it from thier... i said that doesnt make any sense... i can go but the filter at another store as swell.... she said well thats our policy.... and i asked what exactly does price match mean anyway... they said umm....its matching the price of a similar item found somewhere alse.... i said exactly... they said sorry still cant do anything cause i can order it on line.... i said thanks for nothing put the filter down... and walked out the store...

im am going to make a call to their head office and see wtf price matching really means

Complain big time and document all you can, check out other on line places and use their pricing if to your advantage. I believe there is an on-line complaint forum or two also...locate it and post there. Be polite, but firm.
 
i would say fine. go find a site with even cheaper prices......

well i just got off the phone with their customer service people... they said basically its up to the individual store to set their rules and if they didnt want to price match something from our online store that they didnt have to

so i guess thats that.... i'll just buy online from now on
 
they are so wrong..... its a corporate policy.....

the people i talked to on the phone where from there customer service line..... im not sure what to say.... i dont understand why they wouldnt price match from their own website.... maybe it has something to do with me living in canada
