Unlevel aquarium

Guys my aquarium is noticably unlevel should I be worried???

How unlevel is it?

My 55 Gal has about 1/4 to 1/2 inch difference from one end to the other and it's a negligible difference in stress as the stand does support it all nicely.

it really depends on how 'unlevel' it is.

being un level can cause strain on the frame of the stand and
sometimes the aquariu itself.

Very true. Also the size has a lot to do with what could happen. I wouldn't be worried about an unlevel 10gal but if it was anything over a 55gal that would be something to worry about.

How many gallons is it? my 10 gallon hex tank is unlevel by prob 1/4 to 1/2 inch but its not a big deal my 20 gallon which is on the same dresser isnt tho or its not noticable. unless its a huge tank i wouldnt worry. is it on an aquarium stand or like a dresser or something that could make a differeance too.

Its a 29 gallon and i dont know how to tell how unlevel it is with a ruler I put a cushion under it and that helped a little.

Don't fill up the tank all the way fill it up so you can see the water when looking threw the glass at the front. You will be able to see if it is very unlevel or just alittle bit unlevel

SHim the stand so it is level. Then get some thinner foam and set in on the stand where the tank will sit. Sit the tank on the foam. This should compisate for any unlevelness once it is filled and weighed down. This also gives what ever side is unlevel, the water presure has a cusion to bounce back up.

Ooh ya you could just put a level on the tank ;)

somethings wrong with my house... only one tank is level. the 29g i'me usng for my reef has been on unlevel floors for years before as a freshwater tank. Still not one crack in any tank.
