Tomb Raider: Ascension - hmmmmm...a review..

Ok, firstly, i gotta say, i am not one for watching cheapo amature budget movies....BUT.....i i decided to give this a try tonight with Tomb Raider: Ascension....



Here is the write up about it first...

West Midlands based filmmaker Stephen Reynolds’ latest 60 minute feature, was shot in 7 days with a budget of £10,000, Stephen directs Anna Tyrie in his own spin on the Tomb Raider franchise, taking the story back to the beginning of Lara Croft’s journey and showing her rise to become “Tomb Raider”. A sacred artifact created by the ancient Mayan Civilization in Mexico hundreds of years ago, believed to hold the secrets behind the end of the Mayan calendar in 2012. With the family butler, Winston, educating her about everything he has learned from her Father about the Ascension Stone, Lara heads off to follow her first lead buried in an ancient mine deep in the heart of England. Once down there she discovers more than she had ever hoped for and soon realizes her Uncle has answers to questions she has been asking for a long time.

Well, i was not aware of the price tag on how much this movie cost to make ( about $20,000 USD ) untill after i watched it, but, i was not expecting any glitzy CGI etc etc...fact is, there is none....lol...

I have to say, that i did actually think it was "ok"...i was actually surprised..I know when i am watching a bad movie because i get up and do other things, like get beer, make a coffee and not pause it...however, i did not do that....It has some storyline, it has background, a little humour ( although more could of been added )..it also has proper brit accents ( rather than someone who has been learning how to speak like a brit for the movie.. )..

Go for it....watch it...but do keep in mind exactly how much this movie costs....dont expect holywood, cus you wont be getting it...

HHHHMMMMM not much of a Lara Croft fan but I may just have to see what's up. Anyone who can make a movie for 16,400 American (current exchange rate) has to be pretty decent at what he does.
