Dottybacks are awesome as well! I have just used Blue Damsels to cycle. I only had one die, during the cycle, and cycled many tanks with them.
Oh that reminds me of the Royal Gramma. Not a cycle fish, but once your tank is ready, they are stunning as well!

Royal grammas are very similar but the attitude of the dottyback sets it apart. It’s like a royal gramma with a clown trigger attitude. If he uses live rock and sand, he shouldn’t have a cycle unless the rock has a lot of die off during transport
