My tank is cycling right now, and just has to wait for 1 more week, and then I can introduce fishes into my aquarium. I will get tetra, guppy and molly for my new aquarium. Which fish should I first to be introducing to my tank? For the molly and guppy, I will get a pair of those, since I want them to get babies. I think I will get 5-6 neon tetras, 2 pair of guppy, and 2 pair of molly. Is this ok for a 10g? Also I will put my betta in it too, I already have a betta in a 1g tank, and I know he is really boring in the 1g tank. So I have several questions to be asked:

1. Is 5-6 neon tetras, 2 pairs of molly, 2 pair of guppy and 1 betta are fine in a 10g tank?
2. Will this be overstock?
3. Will these fishes get along with the betta very well?
4. I want to have babies of molly and guppy, what I will do to those fries is I will let the fishes in the tank to eat some of those, and save only 1 or 2 left. Will this be ok?
5. Any more comments and suggestions on my new 10g tank?

Thank you, I know my English isn’t that brilliant, thank you for asking.

I would try something a little hardier than the tetras. The tetras prefer a soft water while most mollies and guppies prefer a harder water. Another negative about this is that Mollies prefer a larger tank, they do best in atleast a 20 gal or larger for moving around. I keep mine in a 55 gal setup.
A fun tank to try is guppies with Cories. This what I will usually try and keep and they do very well in this setup.

You put that betta in there and you'll probably will be lucky to get 1 fry per liter. The betta should get along with the others. I'd stick with the tetras, mollies and guppies, but don't know if I'd mix the guppies and mollies. Maybe 5 (2 males, 3 females of one or the other. You'll have better fry results this way. I have 4 neons and 2 platties and one cory in a 5 gallon, so no, I don't think you'll be over stocking. I also agree with maybe a couple of cories, I like that they keep the floor clean. That should get you a good mix.

You're probably okay with your setup. However, not sure how many people have luck with livebearers in general. Fries often get eaten and I never had much luck keeping them, personally. However, keeping bettas with tetras is ideal, as long as you don't get large tetras and serpaes; those tend to be fin nippers.

Tetras such as,

Glo-Lites
blackskirt
white skirt
pristellas
green fire
bloodfins

Thank you for those replies, anymore? Anyone? So should I put 5 guppies, (2 males and 3 females), 5-6 neon tetras and my betta into my tank? Sounds good? As one of the reply said, I should keep either one of the livebearers, I will go with guppy, since they are hardy and having a colour closes to rainbow. Any more suggestions? Thank you.

You will be fine with the guppies and that many but the only problem with Guppies and Bettas (i personally never had this issue) is that some Bettas will bully the guppies for the finage.

Good decision on keeping one of the livebearers. I have 1 male and 3 female guppies in my 5 gallon along with 2 cory cats. Just so you're prepared, I have roughly 30 babies right now (I moved most of them out into a 12 gallon). I'm sure the adults eat some of the fry after they are born, but they obviously don't eat them all. Make sure you have a plan for those babies should you end up with an overpopulation.
Also, I do agree that you may have some aggression between the betta and the guppies, but if you really want a betta with them, add it a few weeks after your guppies are established in the tank. This may help as your betta will not have an established territory yet.
Good luck!

I didn't know guppy and betta wouldn’t get alone with each other. I thought only aggressive fishes like tiger barbs would be the only one who couldn’t get alone with betta. I think I will NOT PUT MY BETTA INTO THE TANK THEN. Therefore, I only have 2 males and 3 females guppies and 5 neon tetras in my tank. I still want to keep 1 more kind of fish in my tank. Any suggestion?

Because guppies and neons are both mid-top dwelling fish, i would suggest a fish that likes to hang out at the bottom of the tank. Such as cory catfish, as many other people have already suggested. They like to be in groups of 3 or more, however, so maybe you don't have enough room in your tank? You already will have 10 fish in there. I would say go for it, but it would be verging on overstocking.

Cories are good because they eat the food that falls into the gravel and would otherwise turn to waste.

I don't know what else you could stick in the tank that wouldn't grow too big for it.
