teenagers of AC

Heeeeey... you haven't been a teenager since... well, I think we'd have to measure it in geologic time, but still... :silly:
no, but i stayed at a holiday inn express last night...

I never had a permit. I just drove anyhow and finally one day I decided to go and get a license and be legit. Over the years I have had many different types of licenses. The doctors turned me to DMV and they pulled my CDL so I can't drive truck anymore. They were supposed to pull ALL but they didn't and last year I was able to renew my operators and motorcycle licenses. With Loss of CDL I automatically lost certification as a DOT authorized inspector. Not like I drive much anyhow anymore. I don't miss it as much as I thought I would.

I believe it's listed in my prof, but if I am considered old then I sure don't act like it...

That would be your liver...which sort of doesn't rhyme with spleen at all.
nope im right its spleen :silly:
actually, he's right about the spleen. i just didn't know about his mono when i posted about the liver.

sorry to be a spoilsport, but this is the boys health. i'd hate for him to have the wrong info. it's potentially very dangerous in this case.

ill just listen to the doctors :)

Ah, allaboutfish, your lucky! Still 14, so I am going to start soon. My parents are not entertained by the idea of me being able to drive myself to our LFS!

Still have yet to get my permit, could've got it a month ago but don't really feel the need yet.

YES! I am not the only "crazy" one. My parents are the ones making me drive. I am the one procrastinating. Its not that I dont like driving, I dont like driving here where the speed limits change from 55 to 30 pretty fast. The list could go on and on. I wish I was in Wisconsin instead of IL for learning how to drive. There is a lot less traffic there, and there are actually back roads and stuff. The thought and process of driving/riding is nothing new to me. I have been riding atvs, off road go carts, and dirt bikes since I was 5 years old. Driving came pretty naturally to me after getting use to the way the car and suv handled differently. Now for the scary part, winter driving. I never drove/rode the stuff in the winter, I was in a sled tied to the back of whatever it happened to be. The physics of it are pretty easy, but just knowing that doesnt mean anything if you cant apply it. My dad almost caused us to slide into a big snow bank today in a 4wd suv. And he has been driving for almost 30 years. But, I did notice we were going a little fast at into that turn. I probably would have stopped and waited through the light. But he sped up and went through.

I did take a little pride in the fact that I was the only one in my drivers ed class (not through my normal school) that never missed a single day of class. I missed one question on the final test for the class. When I took my permit test at the dmv I missed one question according to the lady there. But I wrote it down and talked to my instructor. There were multiple answers that worked for the way the question was worded, and I didnt choose the one they wanted. I had to grade someone elses test and she got the equivalent of a c+ on it. And she already had to re take the class the THIRD time because she missed more than 3 days. The funny thing was, she was actually in the building all three days. Doing fund raiser stuff for the school. I hope she got another $380 to re take drivers education again. It just amazes me how little effort people are willing to put into something that is going to have such a big impact on their life. Sure the videos were old and cheesy, I paid attention and got an A on the final test. The people texting during the videos and normal class stuff, didnt do as well.

When i took my driving class, if we were a minute late they wouldnt let us in, and you had to come back in two weeks when that class came back around in the schedule. You shouldnt be allowed to miss a class and be allowed to take the permit test. Driving is putting your life and everyone else's life around you in your hands. Not something to be taking lightly.
