tank mates for my Betta?

may be the distortion from the glass but that doesn't look like a very healthy betta

Get a 10 0r 20 gallon tank with a filter, and heater. Then you could Have some fish with your betta. 10 gallons are only 7 bucks at petsmart.

You might want to get something bigger like a 5g tank atleast then you could put some snails in with your betta but cycle it first if not then keep him alone but you must get a heater for that bowl. Bettas like water temp around 80-85 degrees. Also will need a filter too run at low current.

sorry no more fish for that tank.... please be nice to your beta and get the poor bloke a larger tank more plants and at very least a heater and filter. beta's are beautiful fish and they deserve better than to live in tiny 'fish cages' this is not just aimed at you - infact ive seen a LOT worse. infact my beta has only just come out of himself and showed personallity scince i moved him to a 110 g tank-- you should see him now!!

I suggest a larger tank with heater and filter, as that betta does not look happy. That tank might be alright for temporarily, but a betta in a bowl is not a good idea.
Get a larger tank, 5gal+ would be excellent, put a great many number of plants in it, along with heater and filter, and then you may possibly have some other fish in with your betta, eg mollies or platties or tetras possibly. I wouldn't go near barb, guppies or most cichlids, as your betta mightn't look too pretty after a while and the guppies it'll just kill for whatever purpose suits it.
