i dont know if they have name, but am looking for photos and plans on how to make some internal filters out of glass for my 2 aquariums

any suggestions how to make them?

i think they are called sumps ? am not sure.. am looking to make 2 for some planted aquariums
anyone ever made one ?

The idea was to avoid buying those plastic canister filters and have them hanging in my aquarium ruining the landscape..

i thought of using one external filter and split the inflows to serve 2 aquariums but was suggested to avoid doing that.

so i thought of doing a glass filter with in the aquarium where i can seamlessly hide it on the back or at the sides of the aquarium..

Can i do that? anyone else did this ?

you can basically make an internal filter in any tank by making a false back or side, or corner even, and having a pump inside... one thing you can't do, is split a canister filter between 2 tanks. just isn't going to work for you.

you can also use matten filter foam, such as the porette foam from swiss tropicals, to build an internal sponge wall with an air lift or small pump to return.
