well my cousin bought on of these cuase it looked cool. guy was about 3 to 4 inches long when he go it. well i lived with him for about 9 months and in the time it only grew to about 5/6inches. we had a overstocked 55gal tank. it eventally died (along with everything else) when he left the tank at his moms house.

well now its come time to where i wanna stock my 55gal and ive been reading about this fish and people are wrting about how theirs grew from 4inches to like a foot long in a matter of 3 months or so.

I want one of these fish but dont plan on getting a bigger tank for a while, is there a way to stunt a fishes growth so i can have it for like a year or two? when he gets to big could i sell him back to a store? could i eat him or something?

also as for the tanks mates i plan on having, chinese algae eater, blackknife, blue lobster, and maybe one or two more fish, undecided

I dont know about suitable tank mates for clown knifes. But deliberately wanting to stunt a fish is not cool. Stunting is very bad for fishes health. Id say dont buy a fish unless you know you have a suitable aquarium. If you want to learn more about clown knifes and other large fish monsterfishkeepers is a good place. Heres a link to the knife fish section:
