Ok so in my 20gal I put 2 snails in about a month ago and now I have spotted 2 small circular patches with tiny clusters of what look like sesame seeds and was wondering if those might be snail eggs..?

Also, in my 18gal I had 2 snails in there but within 2 days I found each snail stuck to the intake tube of my filter with their bodies outstreched inside the tube... did they get sucked in accidentally?

The only thing I can think of is on the 18 I rencently treated for ICK using the heat and salt method but I did pwcs every day for a week to try and get the water back to normal before adding the snails but maybe I didnt get all the salt out??

I run the same kind of filters on both tanks - AC50s...

What kind of snails? What else is in the tank that might be laying eggs? As far as the sucked-up snails, it is entirely possible that they crawled up into the intake pipe and were overcome by the current. Freshwater snails are pretty sensitive to salt, so that might have stressed them.

If they are common apple snails (often sold as mystery snails of various colors) they lay eggs above the water line.

I have had an apple snail get sucked into the filter intake (mine is also and AC filter). Most likely, it was trying to eat something on the inside of the tube and got stuck due to the current. When this happened to my snail, it was releasing some white liquid and I was certain it would die (it didn't!). I turned off the filter until the snail got off on it's own, turned the filter back on, and left the snail alone afterwards.

They are ramshorn snails and the only other occupant is a Rainbow Shark :)

Yep, probably ramshorn eggs. They do lay their eggs below the waterline, in clusters embedded in clear jelly. Did the adults survive the filter suction?

The description you gave is exactly what they look like and yes they are well below the water line, one is on the back of the tank near the bottom and one is on an ornament...

The filter mishap was in another tank and I figured out that they got on there from a plant that was resting on the intake....

sounds like snail eggs to me. I have snails crawl up the intake and then get sucked out of their shell quite often.
