I have just transferred some fish from my quarantine tank to my main comm tank. Can i transfer the sponge in the quarantine tank to the main tank also?

Or Will i be able to reuse my filters, i'm planning to soak the sponge filter in a super concentrated salt solution for a few hours after this will it be safe to reuse already?

If your fish were in QT and had no issues for 4-5 weeks, you can reuse the media without treatment. If there was any disease, etc., I wouldn't risk it and throw it away. Just my 2.c.w.

[EDIT] - You would also need to treat the filter itself, which a lot forget to do. I boil mine when I use it in a QT that had any complications (intake, canister, all of it)

If the fish are fine, you can move the sponge over. If youre looking to disinfect the sponge, instead of using salt, use a bleach solution and rinse it thoroughly.

Thanks I'm a little hesitant to use bleach if I soak overnyt and I use sodium thiosulfate to deactivate the bleach can I use the sponge right away ?

I would honestly toss it if it was infected. The floss is cheap, and most parasites easily live threw a salt treatment, even in high concentrations.

If you aree moving the fish into an established tank from teh qt, I assume they were healthy therefore there is not really any reason to disinfect your media or filter.

There is no reason to be hesitant to use bleach. Simply rins it with decholrinated water, just dont use the scented bleach.
