Anyone have a recomended amount of CO2 to add to a 125 gallon aquarium (as in bubbles per minute). I bought a CO2 system, but have not set it up yet.

Thanks,
Clay

It's hard to suggest a certain bubbles per minute. Try to aim for 30 ppm of CO2 if you can. You'll need a pH and KH test kit to figure this out.

Research has shown that levels past 30 ppm do not have any additional effects on plants in our aquariums. So anywhere in the 25-35 ppm should be good.

A lot depends on how efficient your setup is at retaining CO2 in the water column. I'd start on about 1bps and go from there. On a 125g it'll probably take a few bps to get where you want.

Clay-- How you doing?? Didn't I send you some dwarf sag??

I always measure using the PH/KH method. Your bubbles per minute to reach about 30ppm can vary quite a bit, depending on.....
1. Your surface water movement.
2. Your reactor or diffuser.
3. The depth of you tank.
4. Plant and fish load.
ECT..

Be wary of the charts. My tank showed 60ppm based on the charts. With that much CO2, my fish should have been dead.
