RCA mp3 player

.. well i think they suck.
..harsh judgement... But, maybe you had some bad luck with RCA. A friend of mine has an RCA player and it works good.

On mine the battery life is horrible, it will shut off by itself, freeze up, refuses to turn on, will not recognize my memory card, and it is very flemsy plastic that can break if you drop it, like when I work out. Horrible player from RCA. RCA's products now are not the best quality and neither are there TV's.

I have a iRiver mp3 player, awsome!! 512 mb with 16hrs of recording time and play, also FM radio. the recording is great! i use it to record my lectures and church sermons, i connect it throught the "line in" and then to our music box, i then copy it onto a cd, awsome playback and clearity. it sounds like if i bought a sermon or notes from a store!!!

forgot to mention, it was only 140.00

for what it does its great. iPods are very expensive and only plays music(i think) but for sure it doesn't record voice.

it all depends (like a computer) what is it that you need it for.

Actually, the iPod is pretty versitile. You do need to buy some accessories to take advantage of that (a microphone is available to record voice for example) but the opportunity is there. The iPod interface is the best I've used, hands down and its no more expensive than similarly sized MP3 players.

I have a Rio Cali that use for the gym since its pretty durable, light, and I don't need a lot of music at the gym but I carry my iPod everywhere. Nothing like having every song you own on one portable device.

The only thing RCA does good is there TVs. They have some good house amps and cd players but that is about it. They dont make bad stuff just not very good stuff. I personally hate i-pods but I would much sooner buy an i-pod over any RCA portable stuff. But overall I still like my Blackberry and smart pad better.
