What a cutie! I have been trying to teach my Macaw to wave on command so I could get some nice pictures of her like that but she just glares at me and says no.
Sounds like we have quite a few people here with birds & fish.
Please house them separately.

try clicker training :)

and yeah, please house your birds are fish seperately LOL

Gorgeous bird King.

thanks, H :)

I've never had much luck with clicker training.. I think it's my own fault because I found it kind of impersonal. I didn't feel right using it on animals I considered to be my kids. They respond well to praise, she knows how to do the wave, she's just stubborn and sometimes shy :)

Nice bird!

I would suggest that it would look even nicer if, after next moult, you clip the interior primaries back to the next row of feathers, leaving a couple of them in tact (the ones on the ends of the wings). This way, they look totally unclipped unless they spread their wings. At least try it - if it can still fly well enough to cause problems, you can always clip the outer ones as well.

he was clipped before i got him, a few days before christmas, i'm going to let his primaries grow back and practice some recall training in the house.
