Anyone know if there is a fish or a cleanup crew that will eat q-tip sponges and the other fuzzy spider webish sponge? It's all over my LR

Thanks,

many angels eat sponges, but you're actually a little overstoced IMO right now and they need a lot of swimming space so you can't get one. I think certian types of starfish and snails eat them, can't remember which though.

many angels do eat spounges, but i have never seen any eat q-tip spounges, same thing for most other fish taht naturaly eat spounges such as Moorish idols.
the best way to get rid of them is lower your nutrients by doing such thigns as feeding less, putting in carbon, and skimming more. this will lower their food supply until they fade

thanks...

in addition to that there is always manual removal.

also most echinoderms like urchins, as well as stars(stated earlier) will eat on sponges aw well. i have seen emerald crabs and decorator crabs pick at and somewhat eat them but they wont do w good job removing them. angels are really the best but for your tank size even a dwarf angel wouldnt be such a great idea.

Thanks everyone, I wasn't planning on getting fish cause of the size of the tank. I was hoping another type of shrimp or snail or crab...would be sufficient. But we discovered a hitchhicker earlyier in February. I first saw its shedded skin on a rock one day...searched and searched for a few then finally saw it. It's about 1cm wide, hairy and a light tan color...Can't get a pic of it but maybe he will be sufficient in eating some of the crap that is blooming.
I'm sure I have green bubble algae, not sure about hair algae(redish and fuzzy)and other greenish algae. None of the above seem to be out of control. I have started to feed less so we'll see what happens. My water params are great, except nitrate does hover around 10ppm...

Thanks and hope to hear from ac soon...:girl:

Here is my question: I'm assuming this crab isn't good so what do ac members suggest to trap or catch it...? We never really see it so a trap of some sort would be better.
