Ok I am setting up my divided 5.5 gallon betta aquarium. Yay! I am splitting the 5.5 gallons into two sections with plexiglass. I have three sheets cut, just in case I screw up. I read that someone drilled holes into the plexiglass so that water could flow. My questions are...

What size holes should I drill?

How far apart should I drill them?

How many should I drill?

Thanks~Palmbreeze :)

That was me..I used a 1/4 inch bit, and drilled them about one inch apart, in straight rows..I started an inch from all sides of the plexiglas - mark the holes centers with a ruler and a wax pencil before you start, if you want it real exact.....

Just a note on that, if you don't have a wax pencil a regular pencil will work, or a dry erase marker. I posted this because i have now idea where to find, or even what a wax pencil is, didnt know if you did either> Happy Fish Keeping!

I think a wax pencil is a crayon?

Also, I'm not sure the size (just not too large) of the holes and their placing is very critical, unless you have only one filter in the tank.

I used a normal tank divider (1/8-inch holes) and had a mini filter on either side of the divider. With a heater on only one side, the overall temp stated correct and constant.

Eventually I had to make the divider opaque because the bettas spent 100% of their time standing-off against each other. Looked pretty stressful.
