Please post cichlid aquarium pics!

Hi,

I want to see how people are setting up their cichlid aquariums?

Also, do you recommend using live plants, fake plants, or none at all?

Any pictures and advice would help...

A lot depends on the type of cichlid. For instance, I have live plants (Anubias) in my pike cichlid tank, and they're fine. Other cichlids, such as the large Central and South Americans, will almost certainly decimate any live plants, either for food or for sport.

African rift lake cichlids, I assume? Most people's rift lake set-ups are devoid of plants, to replicate the rocky habitat characteristic of Lakes Malawi and Tanganyika. This is not to say there aren't any plants in the rift lakes (mainly Vallisneria), though.

This was one way I had my tank setup. But due to having Oscars, it changes quite a lot.
