has anyone converted or somehow made a paintball tank (specifically a 20 oz. tank) and used it as a pressurized tank that costs 5x more?

ok... how would i go about doing such a thing. I have a DIY right now, and remembered, (after i set the whole thing up) that i have 2 paintball canisters im not using.

better off getting a standard setup and a 5lb tank than the redsea kit and going paintball

in my opinion anyways...unless you have extreme size restrictions

i have extreme cost issues. im a broke flight instructor and i either have my cr hobby or my fish hobby. i like the fish more so im going with that.

you can get a reg w/solenoid for $115 and 5lb tank for like $58

that's just a bit more than the redsea kit, and you will save on refills in the long run

filling 20oz at outdoor places here costs the same as filling a 5lb at welding supply, obviously it may be different where you are, but its something to think about, since 5lb will last a lot longer than 20oz.

I have the redsea regulator/needle valve, and I would advise against getting it, if you want to go paintball, buy a good reg and get some adapters imo
even then it may be cheaper to just get a 5lb tank and no adapters

You can get a reg w/ solenoid w/ needle valve w/ bubble counter w/check valve for like $85 (I got mine actually a little cheaper on sale), plus a 15# bottle for $65 locally.

Except on a nano tank (or even them in some instances) youll save more money with a canister. Most I've seen use em just on small tanks with tiny stands that they cannot fit a 5# or larger canister. They pay more for the small size plus the frequent trips to refill.

Some folks who are into paintball I think maybe get cheaper fills with some kind of membership, IDK.

But if just one $15 fill on a 15# tank lasts like a years, and your paintball 20oz bottle lasts a couple weeks... well you can see how that adds up (plus time and gas money, etc). All the rest of the equipment costs the same, except maybe the reg, which could cost more on the paintball than what you could get on a 5# or larger co2 tank. Too me its worth it to not have to mess with for a year or more.
