Lucky Bamboo in 30 gal Goldfish

I apologize if this has been asked before, but I couldn't locate thread about it. Anyway, I have these "Lucky Bamboo" plants that have been given to me and are in pots with just water. I had the idea of putting them along the back of my 30 gal Goldfish aquarium with the leaves sticking out of the top.
My initial thought was "that might be cool", my second thought was "that might hurt my fish". So I'm sure someone has attempted this and I was wondering if it would be detrimental to my tank or the Bamboo.

As long as you grow them emergent like that, they'll do great. I've seen them sold as aquatic plants which just isn't true. Goldish like plants, though, but I'm not sure if they'll eat roots.

Any leaves under the waterline will die & rot. You'd have to suspend them from the rim unless these are very tall bamboo stems. Not sure how nice the roots will look loose in the water.

you could always tie them down to a piece of driftwood or rock, preferably the driftwood

My goldfish ate every plant I put in there with them, but if you have extra bamboo you could try it with just one.
I'm not sure about whether it would hurt them or not, I never tried it...

I doubt the goldfish will be able to eat much of the bamboo, it's roots are pretty woody. It will do great though, if undisturbed. I've got 3 bamboos growing out of a 4 gallon tank, and they've grown at least 18" in the last year and a half.

once the bamboo grows tall enough, you can bury the roots to keep them out of your sight

i have some growing in my tanks looks great and the plants are happy. they started out as 24" stalks and now they are about 4' tall.

I have 3 18-24" lucky bamboo stalks in my 40 breeder tank.

If yours are really short, you could put them in your HOB filter till they grow a bit taller.

Bamboo plants aren't aquatic. Not sure how long they would last under the water...
