live rock off of ebay

I wouldn't buy live rock unless you see what you are getting. I would want to see the shapes and pick them out to create a cool aquascape...plus you are spending a lot of money...you deserve to be picky!
 
Well I was thinking of buying a 50 pound box and would mostly be using it to cycle a 75 gal. tank and as base rock,not to mention would be alot cheaper than the lfs ,it is $6.99lb there and have to drive a hour for that,so was kinda hoping someone had bought from a ebay dealer or maybe even knows a reasonable online store,kinda on a short budget ,since I have two rug rats and a wife that takes care of most extra cash I get,lol

yes i bought live rock off ebay and was very satisfied. i don't believe the seller is still active but i think the rock is still sold on ebay through other sellers. it's the cured figi that works out to be $2.25 or so a pound. not quite as nice as what i can get at the lfs but that stuff is $7.99 so it was sooo worth it to me to buy off ebay.
 
Oh well if it is that far away and you are not a regular or whatever then ya i guess you can opt for the cheaper route for sure and just make it work with what you've got. I bargained the price of my rocks down and since then I have become a very regular customer with them but it seems like your situation is much different. Get some online and let us know how it goes and take pictures of course too!
 
Has anyone tried Tampa Bay Salt Water live rock? They sound amazing...
