I purchased a great looking piece of driftwood on Saturday and have been soaking it in a very large container for 4 days now and still it has not sunk to the bottom. Does anyone out their have some ideas on how to speed up the process and how long should it take.:newbie:

theres an article by j double r try reading it
also if you want you can boil it.
look over in the article section.

If too big to boil, it will need to be held down with something heavy till it is water logged. On pieces with large bases, I hollow them out and fill with silicone and glass marbles.

some peices of wood dont sink..
like one of mine..
best way is to get a big bucket fill up with water- put it in.. then put something over it

I had a piece of driftwood that took over a year or so to sink without being weighted down with stones.

thanks I will but the piece is to big to boil.

How big is it? I boil pieces outside, with a propane burner used for crabpots (and infamously, by people who burn down their decks when trying to fry a turkey ;)). I can put a big pot on it, and bring it to a boil in short order.
