Aaand something very interesting. Marsilea villosa - apparently an endangered species which is endemic to Hawaii, specifically the island of Oahu where I live. Pretty neat!!

So maybe the guy did some emersed growth in his tank before flooding & adding floaters/fish.

And Tay, oops! Sorry... sounds like someone will be going on a nosh-run soon! How 'bout pickles & ice cream? :D

Wow, 40 posts on a thread I just created yesterday!

Anyway, Couldn't you ask OP?

Well, there were already 3 or more posts asking what it was... he never responded... and I've lost track which thread/owner it was. :lipssealedsmilie:

And yeah, I've totally flooded this thread - sorry!

Haha thats fine, I feel quite proud actually :)
Umm, I reckon you could just go with whatever plant you find most attractive out of the plants that you have posted already

Yeah I was looking at Hydrophila sp. myself... it's not rotala indica.

(rotala indica)

People mislabel rotala rotundifolia as r. indica all the time.

(r. rotundifolia)

Not my tank! I saw this on another forum and loved the tall ground cover. It looks like marsilea, but I've never seen this type of growth before. Any ideas? The OP never responded to multiple questions asking about it. I've got marsilea (& duckweed, lol!), so I'm wondering if I can recreate this look.

I sooooo want that!

As a newbi here ... I'll put in 2 cents.

1) this thread does have some valid information but it is lacking. Example: I know what fish it is / plant it is so .. I look around for the care sheets.

2) If you have the time to post a beautiful pic .. post the care sheet! We newbies need to know what we are looking at and how to care for it. A pic is good, but what about water perams, tank mates, feeding schedules and lighting?

3) Stickies and articles are always appreciated. If you have had success with something share it. Backlink it from here (now that we know what it is) to the care sheet.

This thread has just started but searching through a single thread for plants, inverts and fish is a little daunting. ID + care sheet is the best route to go IMO...

HTH and I hope I didn't step on too many toes.

The point of this thread is to help identify pics of plants/fish, etc. You'd still have to do some foot work to learn about it. This is not meant to be what you're suggesting - that's kind of like what this whole forum is about anyway.

Just because I thought that maybe it would be a smart idea to not clutter up the forums here. There are many people that would like to know what their plant/fish is so it isn't hard to tell them or give advice.
