How much did your tank cost?

You guys think you paid a lot, welcome to the UK!

Okay Im still setting up here so this will go up . . . lots!
50gal tank with internal heater, filter, power head and stand - £500
T8 Lighting to fit in built in unit (low level at the mo) - £60
Salt (enough to just fill the tank) - £25
hydrometer - £6
sand - £7
backing sheet - £6
protien skimmer - £190
50lb of live rock for filtration - £150
1 x cleaner shrimp - £13
6 x blue legged hermits - £10
1 x finger coral - £27
1 x Xenia Coral - £20

still have no fish and need another £100 of lighting and a couple of powerheads but total so far . . .
£1,014
once it is stocked with a few more corals and fish I expect it to have cost me £2,000+ and thats before venturing on to expensive clams or hard corals which are £50 a pop!

I would post info but my little ten gallon has been running for two and one half years and has changed directions so many times that all I can do is estimate $2,000.00.

I may be cheating because I got my whole setup stocked used.

29G AG Tank
10G AG Sump
Venturi Skimmer
Whisper Power Filter
Overflow Box
Stand
Home made hood with a VHO Kit
Maxijet 400 Powerhead
~70lbs LR in Tank and Sump

Livestock:
2 watchman goby
2 shrimp
various clean up crews
various soft corals

Total : $350

Ordered Livestock:
six line wrasse - 11.95
200 blue hermit crab - 40.00 (will be splitting this up with some friends)

Green mandarin goby - 12.50
lawnmower blenny - 10.50
ocellarius clown - 12.95
2 emerald crabs - 4.50
2 peppermint shrimp - 4.00

I got lucky on the livestock through a group buy by a former LS retailer in the area.

I also picked up an 80G AG tank with wet/dry system, over flow box, home-made stand, skimmer, VHO Lighting, and Kent Maxxima RO/DI filter for $200.
New Replacement Membrane and DI filter - $100

Grand Total Spent on Livestock and equipment thus far: $831.40
I love to bargain shop.

If anybody is local to the DFW area, I will be more than willing to sell some of the blue leg hermits and snails that I will be picking up. Just PM me.

Forgot Again, Didn't include a 30 watt flourescent refugium light, no idea on cost, I've owned it over 3 years now. I should probably replace those bulbs.

I also agree Local Reef Clubs are great, I've gotten most of my corals from people breaking down tanks, or getting over run with a common type.

Iron double decker stand 85.00

How sturdy is this for a tank containing live rock? The ones I've seen have no support across the bottom of the tank, and I wasn't certain whether that should be a concern.

Thanks,
Bryant
