I have a flowerhorn of approximately size 3 inches and he doesn't want to eat anything
HE shows interest in food when I go near the tank he takes them in his mouth and spills them out again.I have tried adding rosy red minnows, feeder guppies as feeders, bloodworms, frozen worms humpy head and common fish food but he takes them in mouth and spills them out. What to do now?His poop is also black which means he is fine.what shall I do?please help me!
Any kind of help will be appreciated.

He ate bloodworms though, but not pellets. He seems absolutely fine.No hexamita I guess.Normal poop, excellent colors long and pointed fins.Seems that he is picky

What was he eating before you bought him?

I asked that to my lfs and they said that don't know :(

that's not a good sign. Hopefully they fed him at all.

I'm by no means a cichlid expert (or even a novice) but for pellet food you may have better luck if you hold them in the water for a short time before releasing them as food.. just to soften them a bit to make them easier to eat.

It is not like he doesn't show interest for food.He goes mad for worms but not for pellets.

Ive read multiple thread at MonsterFishKeepers about situations like this... Picky fish. Many fishkeepers suggest starving the fish. Maybe this can work for you. Starve your flowerhoen for a few days and then try to feed pellets. If he doesnt take them wait a few more days and try again. Fish can go a while without food.

Again. Dont use feeder fish. They are more bad than good for your flowerhorn.
