I just wanted to ask, how do you heat a really big tank? I mean, I went from 75watts in my 65 gallon. I happened to have another 100 watt to throw in there, but there is no way they are going to create enough heat to keep it warm in there through the winter. I've never seen any other large, 300 gallonish tank with six 100 watt heaters across the back glass, so how does one go about it? I'm handy, so I'd be fine building something, and consequently the tank is filtered with the fluval fx5 canister and there are no overflows in the tank if that makes a difference.

thanks

3 250-300watt heaters should be plenty, i know many people that use much less on their big tanks with no probs. powerheads also help distribute the heat throughout the tank, making the heaters work less.
