Hi,

any common aquarium fish that like to eat snails? I have some plants in my sump but there are also lots of snails, besides clown loaches, any other good snail eaters? Do weather loaches eat snails?

Thanks

yoyo loaches
puffers, i think?

I agree with the yoyo's. Also zebra loaches love to snack on some snails, just be careful the loaches don't eat themselves to death.

If you crush the sanils other fishes will eat them too.

Puffers could also cause some snail population damage. :)

thanks :) Will try to find some yoy or zebra loaches.
there are too many snails to crush :)
btw will these loaches eat swordtails? i have some swordtail in my sump .

The loaches, as with most other fish, will only eat fish small enough to fit in their mouths. They are not generally aggressive to other fish, but will demolish some snails.

No, unless there are fry that like to swim near the bottom.

I think yoyos and zebras are the same species(botia), but have a different color pattern, but the design is always zebra.

Puffers would also work pretty well, but IDK if they would get along with swordtails.
