I saw one of the female guppies with a swollen belly. I thought it was pregnant and separated it into a small QT tank on its own. It has been 2 weeks since and the swelling is constantly growing in size and the fish is less mobile than usual. It is eating but stays more or less in one place under some leaves.

I have never seen a guppy that pregnant and I'm starting to think its something else. What do you think?

Looks pregnant to me.. not sure how long guppies stay pregnant though

If that's a breeder, then it'll stay in one place. It doesn't look as healthy as normal, the fins in the back looks like it was damaged, and the belly area should be more uniform. This one looks like it's either really full, or has an infection in the digestive track. Was this picture taken after she ate, or before?

She is most likely pregnant, but I would keep a close eye and watch for signs.

She looks paler than usual since I put her in this small breeding tank. I have stopped feeding it just in case. I will try to give it some peas tomorow. I will not put her back with the rest because if it is some kind of infection, I dont want to spread it.

Good News! I have seen about 15 fry up to now and she is still very much pregnant. There is more to come.

really cool. They will get fat like that, but sometimes wait a loner time than normal to geive birth. It all depends on your perimeters.
