I plan to line a DIY sump with tiles. Question is, is the grout fish safe? Or is there a special kind i should consider?
I have no clue, i was going to construct a 4'X2'X2' plywood box and line the inside with tile, but now that i think of it, i don't think tile is the way to go to waterproof it. I was originally going to have plywood then a layer of waterproof rubber, but then i'd probably have to have a layer of plywood or something again to stick the tile to...what type of tile and what are you trying to adhere the tile to ?
The tile was supposed to help with waterproofing. It will definitely have time to cure before i put it into useare you just putting tiles into a acrylic or some other non pourous container or are you trying to make the tileing waterproof? most grout is just portland cement and coloring probably a few other stuff like silica. it will raise your ph levels. ive had fish in mosiac fountains, once its dried and cured i think it would be fine, better test with something cheap first.
