I have a 55 gallon tank. that had some cory cats -2 some Neon tetra's, Black skirt tetras and Red eyes tetras...I also had one male betta in here for the last 3 months or so and have all lived peacefully....

About 4 days ago i introduced 3 new gold gourami to the tank...and have been watching them....The betta actually picked on them a bit...But after a day they all seemed to have found their homes in the tank and all seemed peacefull...

UNTIL TODAY...

Found both of my Cory's dead...No sign of disease ect...Fins were fine..

I was thinking maybe my betta went ape****....So i was just looking for my betta...and hes dead on the bottom. Fins were gone....Now looking at my Black skirts...One Long finned skirt has his tail have eaten...Ive been watching the gourami's for the last ten minutes and have yet to see them act aggressively towards any other fish....

Pretty sure im going to pull them from the tank and get rid of them...Havent had a death in the tank for months.

This is why you should never buy gold gouramis, that happened to me too. It was bullying every fish in my aqua except the angel which killed the GG. It killed around $50 worth of fish

Guess there going back! I had some Powder blues a while back and they were fine! I actually had no idea these gold gourami's got so big...Guess i should bring em back and try out some powders again?

I had a Gold gourami, it attacked my angelfish, swordtails, and the female bettas. After awhile, i got rid of him and replaced him with a pearl gourami, which doesn't attack any of my fish and not all to big. But bettas and gouramis don't mix.

Gourami problems :/ i have an opaline gourami and he doesnt bother any fish. He and the bolivian ram actually stick together and swim around with any fights :)

3-Spot, Opaline, and Gold, they are all the same fish (just different colors). Gouramis are know to be aggressive, almost all of them. Sometimes, it is just the luck of the draw if you get one that is passive or mean. From my experience--the "most peasefull" of the "big" Gouramis are the Female Pearls.
