Glass Canopy

you could make your own, but a glass sheet, and glass cutters($5), and it will probably cost 1/2 in store price.

whoa, you have 2 of the same threads:)

i said in ur other thread to get a glass sheet and glass cutters, should be relatively cheap:)
or you can use this type of clear plastic(forgot the name), very cheap, easy to clean, and easy to find

woah sorry abot that my computers acting wonky and showed up as the original post not having been posted so i had remade it.. how much would it cost to make myself?

Acrylic/plastic would be even cheaper, easier and safer. (glass will need to be ground or sanded on the cut edges...if you know anybody who does stained glass work they will have the grinder which is best. You would not want to buy one just for a one-time job.)

Plastic on the other hand has no sharp edges and the store can cut it to size for you. Keep the leftovers for future projects or sale. Your only concern will be to get a thick enough sheet that it will not sag. Plus it can be easily drilled. Then you pick up a pack of little hinges and drill 4-6 holes and you're all set.

Why is there a problem with having the hinge going lengthwise? If your tank has that plastic support bar in the center, then it is designed to have two smaller glass tops. Some tanks don't have that and can use the full 48" long ones.

your 90 have the bar in the middle?

my 110 x does.. It simply uses the 24" glass tops..needs 2 to fit

;)
