Hi,

I recently bought a 37 glass aquarium and was beginning to set it up at home when I noticed that the edges on one side was not aligned correctly -- it is even towards the top of the aquarium but the edge of the smaller side goes in 3-4 mm towards the bottom. The adjacent edge goes in 1-2 mm towards the bottom. The edges on the other side seem fine. The silicone job seems okay. I haven't filled the tank yet, but wanted to know if the uneven edges will be a problem.

Thanks in advance.

It's a brand new Aqueon aquarium. I picked it up a week ago from the store, but left it untouched while I ordered my supplies online. I took a look at it today and noticed the misaligned edges.

I didn't know misalignment was common, or if I was making a big deal out of nothing. The store I bought it from is about an hour away from me, so I thought I would ask if anyone else had this happen. Should I ask for an exchange or is this no biggie?

I would exchange it.

I bought a 40 and a 45 during the Petco dollar a gallon sale. It took looking through several of each before I was happy with the way the glass was aligned and the way the seal was applied. I may be too picky but I don't like shoddy workmanship.

If it doesn't bother you it is not a big deal. Many times this happens on tanks .Since the silicone seal is only at the glass contact points between panes the overlap has only cosmetic effects, and maybe a sharp edge.

I agree with elks........that said........I'd take it back and get one that was made the way it SHOULD be.
