Galaxy Rasboras VS. celestial pearl danio

Hi

Are they the same fish and if so why the two names ? and well they get along with barbs ( tigers and green )

Same fish. They used to be considered rasboras, but now they are known as danios. Wouldn't put with barbs as CPD are a bit on the shy side. I doubt the barbs could catch them, but being chased would stress them out or get them to stay hidden all the time.

+1, IMO a species only or species plus inverts kinda fish. You also need to have a good group of these or they will just hide.

I want to put a small group of Pearl Danios in my 14g Biocube. I have been told that the minimum to consider was 6 of them.

If you get some and want them to spawn then do not put them in with shrimp. Shrimp love eggs.

Yep, same fish. They are so pretty. I plan on gettting some soon.
