would it be possible to keep a fire belly newt in with a community tank? i would be able to make a decent amount of floor space.

When I was young, I kept one with my fishes. They do like cooler temps, so white clouds, neons, and Goldfish are better tank mates.
1) They need a place to come out of water--a drift wood that is above water, ect.
2) Cover the tank well, they can and will climb out of the smallest hole.
3) I fed my newt seperately.
